How can it be Friday again? That week disintegrated, & only two and a half days of school next week, & then summer holidays! I’m half excited/half dreading. Is that bad? I’m looking forward to not rushing in the morning, not nagging over honework & enjoying easy going days with my kids, I’m dreading the ‘I’m-bored-it’s-been-raining-for-a-week-straight-so-in-desperation-I-thought-it’d-be-a-good-idea-to-go-to-Target-days.’

Ah well, c’est la vie, bring on summer!

Now for the pics…

image

We planted a very mini garden this past Saturday, just like our yard, the mini size is just right for my level of gardening!

image

I was not excited about putting his 7 month onesie on this week, his first year is going way too fast for my liking. {although if he would kindly sleep through the night on a regular basis I’d be much obliged.}

image

We ate a lot of cake this week, which is my kinda week! Celebrated the May family birthdays Sunday, made this cake {thank you pinterest}. I could eat chocolate cake every day, oh wait, I think I have this week.

image

Trip to DQ for Mike’s birthday dessert. Stella was feeling festive and wore her {way too small} cat costume. And why not?

image

My new fav, and after a ridiculous trip to Costco, let me tell ya, I needed a glass.

image

Trying to take self-portraits of the glasses I was trying on to show Mike. I am completely unable to make a decision on my own, except maybe what to have for lunch, and I have a bit of a track record of making poor glasses choices…

image

She’s letting me braid her hair!! Sure it was to keep it away from her stitches but I’ll take it!

image

And finally my fav shot of the week! Noah got taekwondo {I have no idea how to spell that word} lessons for his birthday, he certainly loves the uniform!

Happy Friday!
{I get to go to UVillage tomorrow, Hurray!}

My first full week back just flew by! Full of field trips and fun, pretend birthdays and graduations, with a little trauma thrown in just for kicks.

image

These 2 ended up in my bed every morning at 6! Good thing they’re so adorable ’cause that’s way too early in my book.

image

Celebrating Stella’s ‘pretend’ birthday at pre-school, they celebrate all of the summer birthdays on the last few days of pre-school.

image

Stella also ‘graduated’ this week! First one to graduate from pre-school in our family. ;)

image

Later that day we met Noah at his field trip. There were some ugly lookin turkeys there!

image

And a great barn too!

image

Noah’s class, such a sweet group of kids.

image

I continue to have project ADD, lots of half-finished painted furniture, I WILL finish them!

image

And our week ended with a traumatic scooter crash by this one. Lots of tears & blood & 5 stitches! She is such a trooper though, and thankfully our doctor here in town was still open & able to stitch her right up.

Hope you’re having a lovely Saturday – Happy Weekend!

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks! Travelling across the ocean with a 6 month old is always an adventure, here are a few cell phone pics of our journey…

Ready for our trip – thankfully he did amazing!

Miles all cozy on the plane, this is where he slept several hours, much to my amazement.

image

Sun + friends + lager = a great day!

image

Ginormo chair at the Riverside museum. It was very rainy on the kids first full day in Glasgow, so we took a taxi to the museum.

Taxi!

Hanging out with Stella’s friend Mollie.

We got to celebrate Noah’s 7th birthday with a cake ‘made’ from his fav M&S donuts.

My girl.

Beautiful blossoms.

Stella got to visit her old Nursery.

image

One final Starbucks stop at Glasgow airport. So many adventures started with a coffee from that Starbucks!

image

Miles’ amazing dino book, helped keep him entertained on our journey back to the States.

image

After over a year, I finally have my Visa/Greencard. Still can’t believe it’s real.

image

Returned to new surprizes in our yard, including this beautiful lilac bush. Felt like a welcome home gift just for me.

Happy Friday!

Another full week captured in snapshots.

An abandoned robin’s nest. The kids have it under a heat lamp at the grandparents, hoping to get them to hatch. Aren’t they just the perfect blue?

image

Finally tackling the kitchen chairs. I’m using annie sloan chalk paint. No sanding/priming required, it is amazing stuff!

image

We’ve got stripes!

image

Aqua nails make me happy. A new essie color I picked up for spring!

image

Spotty shoes also make me happy!

Another week!

And another attempt at anticipating good things this week, looking ahead with thanksgiving.

I had to try this with my son already this morning as he listed off all of the awful things a Monday at school holds. Things like chapel and music class, oh the horror. Anyways, it took a minute but we thought of some good things too, you know, recess and lunchtime!

hello more spring weather, and discovering the treasures our garden has to offer.

hello salads with avocado, my current favorite.

hello meal planning and grocery shopping with 2 kids instead of 4!

hello hanging out with this spitfire, she loves helping with the laundry and cleaning, making it much more fun.

hello munching on easter candy from the hunt yesterday,

hello planting seeds to grow starts for our vegetable garden,

hello walks in the warmer temperatures with Stella & Miles,

hello *hopefully* last week of Mike working crazy hours!

hello unexpected surprises that life with 4 kiddos can bring!

linking up with lisa leonard, inspirer of ‘hello monday’ and maker of some of my favorite jewelry!

Here’s another week of photos…

She may need new socks…those bright pink ones are hard to let go of.

Sunny *but cold* walk.

Livi helping me make baby food, apparently not a fan of the smell of squash.

Microwave s’mores = YUM!

Miles looooves bananas!

Signs of Spring are everywhere!

Happy Friday.

I’m trying to face this week with hopefulness instead of dread! It’s Spring Break and the hubs is working 14 hour days… oh help!

hello week 2 of being ‘facebook free‘, definitely still a good choice for me!

hello nana taking the kids to see the “Lorax”, adding some fun to Spring Break!

this is my kids’ favorite line:

hello making Easter special this week… easter egg coloring, easter bread, cute easter cupcakes. I’ve been on carb hiatus but bring on the festive treats this week!

easter bread from last year

I hope you have some lovely things to say ‘hello’ to this week!

Another set of photos to show what we’ve been up tp this week!

Olivia played in her first soccer game (or more properly ‘football match’). Her team won & she enjoyed herself, grass stained knees and all!

image

The gorgeous view from the playing fields, it was such a beautiful day.

image

Hello beautiful. I love you, yes I do.

image

Miles enjoying the warmth & sunshine.

image

Wee man turned 5 months this week, mixed emotions.

image

Decorating some delicious Easter cookies.

image

Brothers.

With the warm weekend came the discovery that we have some sugar ants living under our fridge. Stella has taken up camp there to squash any unlucky ones that dare to venture out. Turns out she hates bugs even more than I do.

Happy Friday!
